I’d pick the second option because I don’t care about vumbistan and it’s much easier to scale the economic ladder in a richer country.

Rich is a relative term. You visit some parts of this country and you hear villagers referring to some fat dude as tajiri. The guy owns s kashop, drives amkebe and is able to feed his family.
In norway they classify half a million people as poor because for one reason or another they can not afford three means a day. These families might Even have an ok car ( you cant drive amkebe here) and manage to scrap funds for a holiday, once in a while.
