Would You Invest in Kisumu?

Scenes of rioters in Kisumu looting Ukwala Supermarket after the 2007 elections are still fresh in our minds. Raila’s supporters helped themselves with anything they could find, from refrigerators to TVs, before setting the supermarket on fire.

Bad, bad, bad reputation.

You’ve not forgotten about 2007/8 Ukwala looting but Kiambaa Massacre is ancient history.

Grand Kimwa.
Last week, a wall was brought down. These images scare away potential investors.

What the shelf life of outrage after such happenings ? Because I’m still horrified and angry about the murder of fellow Kenyans in 08. Should I let that go and focus on the latest of wang’oa reli ?

I am already investing IN a Kisumu gal, so yes, I would.

And I dare say these were isolated incidents. Since 2007, only about three businesses have been targeted during the IEBC riots. That’s THREE in nearly 10 years.

Let’s not take our tribalism to that level.

Signed,
