in a sentence no it won’t work and can you allow me to tell you why.

As you can see from the image above outlining the pinout of a typical sim card the pads all connect to different components on the motherchip of the card the VCC and Ground are self explanatory while the IO is used for well IO and the clock is used to feed the module a clock reference signal from which the data transmission timing is derived “here i assume that you are familiar with data transmission particularily GSM” hence when the base clock is not in sync with the signal you will be transferring gibberish. I can go on and on about this but the buttom line is the sim card works with a steady 5 volts good luck supplying that.
Wadau i know this is like trying to explain to a Child why the car won’t move when the gas runs out and using all the terms in @introverts professional dictionary but bear with me.
