Why do some Kenyans think politicians are like gods just because they do the jobs they are supposed to do? As a society we elevate politicians to dangerous levels and we only have ourselves to blame. Examples are everywhere some may not please listers here but they need to be said.
ASPECTS OF POLITICAL WORSHIP
1)absolute unquestioned submission to an authority figure…During the post election violence people literally slaughtered one another for these goons.
2) a feeling that the political leader is larger than the mere mortal he/she truly is…Raila baba, mwana , na roho mtakatifu.
3)propagating beliefs/truths that is widely held to be true even to subsequent generations…
4)faith that he is all benevolent, absolute and will care for everyone…
5)Fear that his reign will end or staying in denial of the fact that a successor will someday arise
5)Not even thinking to question his faults or refusing to believe in any negative qualities…No one questions politicians especially from his or her own tribe.
6)Worship and giving them glorious titles/aliases…like “the one” “the great” “father” stuff like that…
7)A belief that any disobedience to the leader is punishable…or blasphemous.
