After US president Donald Trump, on Thursday, added Huawei technology firm among the blacklisted companies that cannot trade with US firms, the message definitely sent jitters among the users and admirers of the second largest smartphone dealer company after Samsung. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/ureport-uploads/FILE-1558350300.jpg
While some of the people might be contemplating a contingency plan, just in case their Huawei device is rendered functionless on the key programs they have endeared themselves into, it is prudent to keep in mind the following facts before making an unnecessary move.
Here are six things Huawei users need to know;
Holder of the current Huawei smartphones with google apps will continue to use and download app updates provided by Google.
· Google play and the security protections from google play continue to function on existing Huawei devices.
Future versions of Huawei smartphones that run on Android will not have access to popular services, including Google Play Store Gmail and YouTube.
· Huawei has access to the free version of the Android operating system available through the open source license, known as the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
· Huawei has been working on a contingency plan by developing its own technology in case it is blocked from using Android. The technology is already a function in China.
· The impact is minimal in China since most google mobile apps are banned there.

U.S.-China Trade Negotiations Are a 5 to 10 Year Story, Says Allianz’s Dwane
President Donald Trump said he was “very happy” with the trade war and that China wouldn’t become the world’s top superpower under his watch.
“We’re taking in billions of dollars,” Trump told Fox News Channel’s Steve Hilton when asked about the end game on the trade war. “China is obviously not doing well like us.”
Trump’s comments signal he’s in no rush to get back to negotiating with Beijing after talks to end the trade conflict fell apart earlier this month. He has since raised tariffs on Chinese goods and moved to restrict Huawei Technologies Co.’s access to the U.S. market, putting the Chinese telecom giant and scores of its affiliates on a blacklist that curtails access to key American suppliers.

“Between countries, trade and investment must be based on mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. As for what countermeasures the Chinese government and enterprises will take, please wait and see,” China Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said at a briefing Monday.
China’s economy is “not great” at the moment, Trump said. “Our economy has been fantastic. Because they were catching us, they were going to be bigger than us. If Hillary Clinton became president, China would have been a much bigger economy than us by the end of her term. And now it’s not even going to be close.”
