Enterprise road industrial area;near Timsales has a range of vendors whom I found cheaper than Jogoo Rd and Gikomba. Last time I used them cheapest utapata ni 300(but hizi huwa zimechapa to some extent… though you may get good one-it depends on what the vendor has) for quality ones 500-800. New=1800.(last time I checked)

Pallets huwa na a standard size of (mostly)48"*40 … there’s also some smaller sizes too
They must be made of hardwood, mostly pine and cypress but you may stumble on mahogany &oak ones (BTW the shipping industry is the biggest consumer of hardwood due to demand of pallets)
Also they are heat-treated/fumigated (e.g methyl bromide)-some maritime law thing.
Anyho , this is a really underexploited arena for cheap quality timber because, there is a law that stipulates how ‘many times’/long(timewise) a pallet might be used for shipping.

Pallets and shipping containers are the ‘paperbags’ of shipping. To be discarded after useful life/purpose… usually at a fraction of the original cost price.
