A woman punched a 6ft shark in the face until it let go of her foot, which it bit while she snorkeled off the Dry Tortugas, islands off the coast of Florida.
The group were exploring Little Africa Reef when the sea became too choppy for them to snorkel, so they decided to turn back and have a picnic on the beach.

'I punched it in the face over and over again as hard as I possibly could, and after about 30 seconds it finally let go.
The damage to her tendons and ligaments has left her without full control of her right foot, but the doctor was able to save it from being amputated.[/I]

Good for her. Counter attack is the best weapon on animals…not crying for help. Even a lion can escape if you resist and declare a fight when attacked. Doing a research, lions or other predators love naive preys like zebras etc. But will never dare attack minded animals like buffalo, oryx, roan/sable antelope. Even pythons attack humans, but will let you free if you respond with a good bite.
You’ve never seen a lion attack a buffalo? Don’t get cocky just because you have hands. Fighting back will help you to some extent but it won’t always work unless you are armed.
But a fightback is better than surrender. A single lion cannot bring down an adult male wildebeest, leave alone the rogue bufallo. Its not always the strength but the will and courage winning. Even the small but courageous honey badger stands its ground against the panthera leo.
