Why there is a delay in getting new number plates

All number plates are made at Kamiti Maximum. NTSA makes and order and Kamiti delivers.

The current delay in new number plates is coz NTSA owes Kamiti almost 200million if not more. In turn, Kamiti owes suppliers of the raw materials almost as much. When Kamiti orders for raw materials, the current suppliers are not so keen in honouring orders from Kamiti since they know they might not be paid anytime soon.

So, no money form NTSA = short fall of raw materials = short fall of new number plates.

Now you know. @The.Black.Templar

acknowledge source of your information,

importers pay registration fee in accordance to the cc of the unit imported during the clearance process,i think it’s treasury which is late in disbursing fund to the ntsa .my two cents though if that is the situation which is delaying the issuance of number plates

:D:D

KRA does not deal with Kenya Prisons ( read Kamiti) in terms of number plates. Kamiti deals directly with NTSA. And NTSA is the one that registers your number plate . Kamiti Produces, NTSA consumes but relays in payment.

what does the owner of the car do? POOP??

Ama kuna shortage ya convicts

sadness of government

Convicts wako kibao! Approximately 1000 guys are at work at any given time while the rest ( approx 2000) only sleep and play. No work for them. No wonder you get those funny texts asking for assistance from unknown numbers :mad:

i think it is the national treasury that is late in releasing money to the NTSA…

last i heard they were going to import the the technology to make numbers with embedded chips…

Was told that the numbers are made with a manual machine then sprayed to dry in the sun. So when hakuna jua, kuna delay in production :D:D
