I looked over at some financial statements from a company where a friend is a co-founder and the costs for running there product was astounding. They do some VAS stuff for financial institutions. Why have 16 servers on AWS for one service: ati microservices, really? The service itself can be done with 2 servers max, one for client endpoint and the other for async stuff with a db instance and that’s it. Guess that’s why I quit the industry before quacks invaded.
