Crocodile is a carnivorous while hippo is a herbivorous. The crocodile does not feel existential threat since hippo eat plant. It has to coexist. Crocodile are deadlier in water. When in high school we were doing small time agriculture along the river. Hippos would at times destroy everything. They also killed and maimed some of my friends. They have perfect eyesight in the dark so they hide and ambush you. Hata upige nduru aje, haikuachi. We would dig some holes in the shambas to hide in case of a Hippo chase.
