Why Haven't Kenyans Embraced VoIP Calls Despite Proliferation Of Smart Devices & High Speed Data?

There are so many apps that can let you make FREE calls over the web as long as you have a reliable data connection. Whatsapp, telegram, Facebook and hundreds of other are all available.

Why is it that many Kenyans don’t use this facility? Many only use it when calling people overseas of in other far away African nations.

Unaweza kuwaa unapigia mtu ako na mulika mwizi

  1. Smartphones aren’t as widespread as you imagine

There are lots of whatsapp calls.

Smartphone use and broadband access is way below official figures. Saa hii kwa ranches Kuna fiber mwitu that is marketed as 5mbps or 10mbps lakini Iko down sana. At least to some of us who have seen the light.

Juu sio kila mtu ako kwa net throughout.

Shida ni low bandwidth makes the experienxe a pain in the asss
Calls zinashinda zikidrop or iko scratchy and kuna delay fulani super annoying to use. Ukiwa na airtime you won’t even think twice about those internet things
