1 John 5:19…We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
KJV…And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
While living in such a world, you need to superimpose the will of God into your life and your environment, and therefore you need power. Remember Jesus speaking to his disciples, teaching them on how to pray ‘May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’. Even more importantly, when they couldn’t cast out particular demons, Jesus told them ‘this kind goeth not BUT by prayer and fasting’, meaning there are certain limitations you cant overcome if you are not a fasting and praying Christian. Fasting enables your spirit to be sensitive to the leading of God and also empowers you for kingdom and life exploits (Isaiah 58)
Finally, When Jesus regularly talked about fasting he would say ‘when thou fastest…’ NOT IF.
Finally, Apostle Paul talking about his sacrifices for the work God had placed before him, said ‘IN FASTINGS OFTEN’

How often is your fasting regime?
