The moment Kenyans stop using ‘we’ when describing their political convictions will mark the day that the monster that is tribalism will begin crumbling like a house of cards. ‘We’ normally denotes ‘our’ tribe in the Kenyan politics context. How i wish ‘we’ denoted those united by a common political philosophy regardless of the tribe.
It is ever ‘we’ once it comes to voting but once you lack fees for your kids, you discover the song is ever ‘i alone with my problems’.
If your tribe feeds you, then you should follow its political convictions. Come next year, politicians will sing ‘we must unite…blah blah blah’ but once elected, you will be lucky to ever meet your governor, Mp or whatever.

Come next year and those huge queues will not be composed of voters but of ignorance and tribalism. A substantial % of voters spend very little time thinking about elections/economics/state policy etc, they don’t read opinion columns, they don’t have the time to protest or even understand what’s being protested. They think about politics during the election period and by that time there too little time to catch up. So they do what we do when facing choices; they choose what’s familiar.
