I find the new Tzeds situation fascinating. I think this is the only female president ever to have co-wives.

Also, its the perfect example of how modernity clashes with the past. Islam has always treated women as 2nd class citizens. They arent even allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia. Yet, here we have an Islamic president with co-wives.

So on one hand, the constitution of Tz says she can rule. On the other hand, her religion says she cant. It looks as if she is going to navigate a very interesting path since she appears to be following both points of view

This situation is probably what makes her very level headed in my opinion.

Ťhis clash of religion and constitution will make it fascinating to watch her every move. Going forward, it will be interesting to see if her situation could be exploited by her political enemies.

Pakistanis might be more Islamic and more so religiously Conservative than the Tanzanians are. Even a hundred times more Conservative. And yet Benazir Bhutto, a Muslim woman, was the head of their government for several years.

Wahabism may be an extreme example, but in general, women in islamic states are treated like 2nd hand citizens or kids. There are many women activists from Arab countries in the west fighting for full rights for women in their own countries

Even in societies where women have equal rights, they very rarely rise to positions of power and even if they do, its just individuals and not women as a group.

So the idea of women suppressing men doesn’t hold water. The main thing is for women to realize their potential. I mean, look at somebody like Marie Curie. She would never have reached anywhere near her potential under Islam.

Islam was great as a glue to hold societies together in the distant past. But we are living in the information age and that glue simply holds societies back today. Countries like China are doing well with dictatorial glue and using todays current tech and ways of thinking. America is doing well with democratic glue that’s been continuously shaped and melded by thinkers since the time of the Greek

As I have always said, religion is like an appendix. We needed it in the past to survive, but not today. And of the two main religions, Islam is the one that suppresses women the most.
