We devolved corruption to the county level. Some county CECs own properties worth hundreds of millions.
What’s so special about Runda? No way I am paying 200 million and traveling by canoe when it rains. There is alot of easy/dirty money got with no struggle and that someone will gladly pay for “fake status”. 200 million is a 100 acres in Laikipia with a ranch house, tractors, cattle ranch, hay farm , and a lot of change left to generate income. I will never be caught dead buying a house for such an exorbitant price when there are better options.
I once saw SK Macharia’s son the one who passed away na alikuwa na 4 or 5 such houses. Your average millionare or someone with a serious business anaweza afford a house at 200 million. They will buy a house then find a way of declaring it as an expense kwa business so that the government does not tax the money.
Also, diplomats, diasporans and foreigners with money are buying property.
200 million is pocket change to someone who has worked and lived in New York or Atlanta.
But Kenyan property is overpriced for it’s value.
How many are these people that you are mentioning? 200m is billionaire territory… so, how many real billionaires do we have in Kenya?
$1.5M is not pocket change ndugu
BTW Indeed unless the person was a successful businessperson there, it cannot be pocket change for him…
these bushmen (ranchers) own these 200m houses in town
