Where are the Athi and Dorobo people of Central Kenya?

The Kikuyu refer to a people in Central Province as the Athi (the ground people), after the source the names Athi Plains and Athi River. Oral traditions say the Kikuyu paid the Athi to move into their land. The Athi seem to be either the Cushites or the original San people.

we assimilated them,any other question!?

Some say they were paid to sell their land to the agikuyu. So did they migrate to rift valley or were assimilated?

I thought ni Athi, those who hunt using bows and arrows and not athĩ?

what’s the difference?

The either moved after selling land or assimilated. They are the San people, not ‘Cushites’.

niaje Mrefu?

They seem to have been related to the congolese pygmy tribes such as twa.

And if they moved, where did they go?

Athi are pioneers…and wheneveR they ventured out they planted mathakwa ma Athi to mark new territory…

Are they related to the ogiek of rift valley?

No. They aren’t. Their people are genetically unique and aren’t related to Pygmies.

Towards the south.

So what are they? There are niger-congolese, nilo-saharans, pygmies, and capoids in the negroid group. To which group do they belong?

It’s likely they were assimilated. My assumption is that athi are the same as agumba. Here is what wikipedia says:
“The Agumba (also Gumba) people were an ethnic group who inhabited the plains of what is now central Kenya, but are now either extinct or assimilated.”

The “ĩ”

so they were two different groups?

They are. There’s a talker who had given a better description here but I can’t find the link.

The San were present in Eastern Africa all the way up to Egypt but kept moving downwards as population and pressure grew

Agikuyu have maasai admixture due to their intermmariage with maasai but there is also some genetic indicators of pygmy/Khoisan admixture. It’s likely agikuyu absorbed the athi/agumba/dorobo of central Kenya but have high nilotic admixture due to the frequent intermarriage with the maasai. However it’s funny gene flow was from the maasai to the agikuyu and not the other way round.

CLEARLY DNA EVIDENCE SHOWS A LARGE AMOUNT OF PATERNAL GENE FLOW FROM THE MAASAI TO THE KIKUYU AS SHOWN THROUGH THE MEDIATED E1B1B THAT THE MAASAI THEMSELVES RECEIVED FROM HORN OF AFRICA POPULATIONS (BUT STILL UNDER 20% IN THE KIKUYU). THERE IS NO J (ARAB OR JEWISH OR OTHER MIDDLE EASTERN) THERE ARE NO OTHER INFLUENCE, EXCEPT THE MINIMAL PYGMY (B) AND KHOISAN (A) GENE FLOW YOU FIND NO MATERNAL GENE FLOW FROM OUTSIDE POPULATIONS…NO M, NO NOTHING
