After a month, people will stop self-isolating. Quarantines will be less and less effective and the flu will continue to spread. Over a few months, certainly before the end of this year, everybody will have been exposed to the virus. Billions will be positive for the virus. 100s of thousands will die, and it will be over
The unique thing about this whole episode of viral pandemic is that we might not go on with our lives as we previously did.
Always in the past, from the Battle of Britain to the polio epidemics of the 1950s and even as recently as the pandemic of 2009, we lived through it. We got back to living. But this one might be different. People have lost courage. We might not recover from this quarantine, self-isolation.
It could be that people stop the quarantine and say, screw it. They get some courage and realize that they are eventually going to get the virus and this self-isolation thing is for the birds.
We can agree that Government directives will only go so far until people rebel because their lifestyle and choices have been taken from them. Fear is the ultimate weapon to control humanity but, once someone decides that they will not live under it, change happens. The human race survives that way and always has done.
Yes, I think people will decide to brave a virus than stay cooped up inside like a concentration camp. I applaud all the decisions that the Government are making in this very difficult time. Isolation may indeed be a way to ensure the virus dies out. However, if that does not happen in the expected period of time, I think humankind will rise to the challenge and face the foe Headon, by personal decision.
People live. People get sick. People die. It’s the basics of humanity on this planet.

If I was CS Yatani, I’d right now be hands on knees to IMF asking for cover for external economic shocks and on the phone 24/7 to China’s Treasury and other creditors asking them to waive interest on debts accrued.
Expect a famine as well. 7 years of destroying national food security is about to hit this nation badly.
My opinion is that other countries in Asia, Europe and America will deal with this virus to almost zero level, but apa Africa will be it’s home to stay,mutate spread and affect us all, traveling to and from Africa itakuwa ngumu kama mawe,many will die others will survive with the virus for years to come.pharmacitical companies will get a way to mint cash out of it just the way they do with Hiv/AIDS.
I disagree. U.S.A and U.K are overwhelmed and it’s unlikely that they will easily deal with the virus.
