what really gives a cryptocurrency value

For instance Bitcoin, what was behind it’s value skyrocketing, is it speculation, hence a bubble ?

hehe…demand fluctuation essentially due to emotion. Currency trading is like that. stock has less emotion. like the euro collapsing in 2015. If you were on the chart you would be awed.

Pure speculation. Those cryptocurrencies have no fundamentals.

Anyone with an economics knowledge like I, and also this @Simiyu22 shoga, will tell u this crypto shit is well, shit. Wet shit.

Anyone saying price fluctuations does not know the difference between price and value. Price is what the market offers to buy your coin for. Value is how useful your coin is. Price is what you pay, and value is what you get. To answer your question, most cryptos are technically worthless. Only a few have real value that will be actualized with time. Consider the dotcom bubble for instance. Only a few companies survived to become the tech giants we have today, the rest had no real value.

Many dotcom companies failed because their ideas were way ahead of their time. Most of their ideas are being used by the tech giants today eg amazon deliveries, uber eats, youtube, etc.

I like this convo. Very mind stimulating to say the least.

RIPPLE has fundamentals it does not exist to screw governments but to support the banking system, which incidentally needs updating from it’s 40+ year old TT system. Bitcoin is a DAO(decentralized autonomous organization) and you get arrested for being part of Silk Road if you are a token holder.
