Coca Cola biz, specifically their soda business is doing very poorly in Western countries due to a more informed society about the dangers of its consumption. You can smell the desperation in their suggestive ads hoping to remain relevant in third world countries.

I hear they’ve been acquiring companies that sell “healthier” drinks in a bid to maintain market share. How about Pepsi’s re-entry into the Kenyan (African?) market? That must also play a role in Coke’s aggressive marketing campaign. I actually prefer Pepsi’s Mirinda line to their coca-cola equivalents, though Pepsi will have to invest tonnes of resources to replicate even a fraction of coke’s distribution network.
These beverage companies seem to be betting on Africa for their long term survival
