there is no kikuyu hegemony. Only ODMers think that kikuyu hegemony exists and thats a big problem. People should go all over kenya looking for votes not like raila having meetings with useless business men who just want to look important.
It happens when a junior has a big vision and believes in it, he works for the vision but not for the boss. The job is greater than than both of them to him, he believes he is a soldier marching on to a destination. The boss misunderstand the junior loyalty as weakness or interprets it as way of the guy trying to please him. The junior has no idea that the boss has completely a different attitude towards the whole thing. Uhuru wanted to maintain his political base and influence and he thought with that, he will also maintain his control over political situation even after his term is over. However, the opposite happened, mt.kenya moved on to the next king in the making leaving uhuru powerless. This happened because ruto had already positioned himself as the next president by making his intentions known to everyone. The only way forward for uhuru and co. was to erase this image from people’s mind. That is when all the allegations of being a thief and the public humiliation started to portray ruto as unfit to be a president. Handshake had nothing to do with it at the very beginning, just an opportunity that presented itself after sometime. The plan at first was to kill ruto’s dream by subjecting him to humiliation and hoping he will coil down to his boss’s image of him, but ruto was too ambitious to fall it. The second plan was to sabotage him by replacing him with ministers and raila to crush him to submission hoping he will coil down to win the kings favor but it did not work. So there was a misunderstanding from both sides right from the beginning, what i suspect will happen is that uhuru will pretend he was disrespected but he is ready to forgive hoping to reignite the former loyalty, friendship and access he had. But it will be too late for it will happen at different stage all together and he won’t have that access he used to have… and that is my opinion
Maybe Uhuru expected Ruto to act like his pet employee but the opposite happened, Ruto was massively ambitious and simply refused to cow in Uhuru’s shadow which is Understandable, concidering he helped ALOT in forming the government

I wish the thiefth to ascend to presidency (not that I’m a fan of his brand of politics) but …just to show this dynasty people that Kenyans don’t need to feed off everything they say/do just because they are RICH.
