For those with substantial cash on hand that is idle in the short/medium term (3-6 months or more) where are you parking your money?
Are you buying dollars, opening dollar accounts, buying gold or what?
I need to buffer some coins from the shilling’s depreciation while I calculate what to do with them long term

Buy 91 day or 182 day T-bills. Interest is about 10%. If you have an appetite for risk weka kwa bitcoin, it has been fluctuating up and down by 8-10% every week.

GoK right now isn’t trustworthy, it might default Ghana style. Unless one can buy US securities… Bitcoin nayo is too risky

Try an emergency fund like the Money Market Fund…non contractual and you can access the funds any time…

Buy long-term bonds or investment trusts,you won’t regret. Just be careful,also don’t forget to extensively research on the same matter. You could be starting at 10-15% returns annually if factors remain constant.

If govt defaults, its better to have a safe at home and keep your rainy day fund there.

Bitcoin is ok longterm but in the short /medium term it fluctuates vibaya, and I need to park money for just a couple of months. I might buy at $29 k and when I need the money in 6 months it’s $15k

Buy and hold a ton of ethereum when it’s still under 2k usd. The next crypto bull run is around the corner and ETH’s all-time high is above USD 4891, so plenty of room for capital gains in USD, assuming it goes past this level. Crypto is making a come back in 2023 on expectations that the Fed will stop hiking interest rates. #notfinancialadvice

Nimeficha kiasi PayPal…and left the rest kwa bank na Mpesa. I would have put most of my savings in Gold lakini naogopa watu ya wash wash kuliko uji moto.
BTW how can one save in Gold safely?
