I am sure there are many web devs here who will make kenyan sites in the future, so for the love of all that is holy do not have a bloated website.

Lakini mafala huweka images za 2MB!! and dozens of javascript libraries to track ads. Kwanza in Kenya kwa nini unaserve ads that won’t convert. Mara unaona kapage kamoja with 1 image!! Has 2MB of data in Kenya!! These websites are all over I will name just name 1 the ihub page. Why on earth does a simple article need all that data? What can you say in 3 MBs that you can in some few kbs?
So even if the admins in this site won’t try on improving this website then the rest of you don’t fall into the trap of ‘chickenshit minimalism’(stolen).
Kuna a law may be an engineer here knows it that when an extra lane is added to a superhighway to reduce traffic then there more cars will just be added into the lane. Content is user produced. Users post anything. If it were admin, then things would be different. or should anybody posting a 2mb image be banned for your sake?
Images can be compressed without losing quality and also the sites am talking about are landing pages for companies with only a few things to say but then they decide that a black and white image will make everything look cool but the truth is nobody really cares, if your company is a turd, polishing it makes it a shiny turd. Reddit in content mingi sana and I use it for half of my day but nikienda site zingine kusoma articles I only use my data for a few hours.

I also think you should join pinterest for wider experience and appreciation of uniqueness of each site and the fact that you should be ready to lose more data. I however agree with you that admin is an asshole.

I will not pretend that I understood all that you said but I think you have a point… you may have to breakdown this further
All I’m saying is that websites should not use more resources on comps and phones. What you want to say doesn’t need to be extravagant with large photos which no one will remember people will only remember your message and content nothing else.
