labda iko na bullet-proof windows
I highly doubt it, but It’s not that expensive its only ksh 7000 / square foot.
Why did CDF spend on an airstrip? I know it had been closed until security is sorted just a few kms across in Somali.
i believe there was a felt local need. the sight of patients especially waiting for flights to nairobi was always very touching.
4 million inajenga mansion na bado ibakie pesa ya kununua 1/8 of a plot.
OK. I hadn’t thought of that localized need.
Elwak to me is too close to the open border with Somali, Less than 2 Kms. I didn’t think there were many locals living there to begin with. Last time I checked this was mostly a supply airstrip for security forces. Elwak town across the border suffered 4 attacks during Ramadhan. That insecurity led to shutdown of all activities on both Elwak towns on the border including this airstrip. Sasa I foresee KAA getting surprised it has been built up without them knowing. Anyway KAA was given Kshs 10 billion to upgrade 5 airports and five airstrips progressively this year. Elwak airstrip was one of them. They should start with a proper security fence.
We is screwed …as long as Arap Mashamba is DP or CiC.
if it is not the second largest town in mandera after mandera itself then it would be third after rhamu.
Really, we need to redefine the name “town” in the north, maybe centre. If you are using the road from Elwak to Mandera it runs up to the border literally then turns to go parallel with it. At that point you are basically target practice from alshabab because they just sneak in within range of their AK-47. Saa hiyo buses are speeding like crazy.
Brace yourselves
