I love american muscle any day. Those cars are brutes. No etiquette, no excuses. But there is something about European finesse that always wins my heart. Like a calculated killer. Silent in the night ninja. I still have my american favourites(story for another thread). Today feast on my favourite European classic. The Mercedes 5.5L V-8 AMG. Even cosworth had a hand in it but had a different spec. A tuned 2.3L giving about 190Hp[ATTACH=full]141750[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]141751[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]141752[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]141753[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]141754[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]141755[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]141756[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]141749[/ATTACH] started off as a 1987 Merc 190E. Then AMG made a beast out of it. 388 horses from a DOHC 32valve 5.5 aluminium block v8 from the S class. Share your dream European classic.

What does AMG mean?

AMG stands for
“Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach”
which comes from Hans Werner Aufrecht (A) and Erhard Melcher (M) who were the two main partners, while Aufrecht’s birthplace of Grossaspach (G) is the third letter in the name of an independent division of Mercedes-Benz.
It basically designs and manufactures all the amg vehicles of Mercedes-Benz.
An interesting fact is all the AMG vehicle’s engine are hand built on their famous "one man, one engine " philosophy.
Each AMG engine builder stamps the engines they produce with an engraved plaque depicting their signature. According to Mercedes-Benz, there are only about 50 AMG engine builders.
Almost all car manufacturers have a division for tuning cars. And some are just independent. Mercedes has AMG, beemers have the “M” division. Subaru has the “STI” some like braubus are independent. I forget the rest bt ziko kadhaa. In kenya we have “KPMG” ile ya @introvert :D:D
