He also had a 505 injection Saloon and later 405 Mi16 - mahn dude was “subaru guy” back in our day.

It’s pneumatic. Hata the Mercedes za mid 2000s used this technology.
In the 1970s and 1980s, they deployed it even to control the AC modules. Hio system ikipata leak, utaitana.
That’s why most W123 and W126 in Kenya of this era have non functional AC.
Very few technicians know how to fix it. Mzee Mwenye alikuwa ananifix yangu is always booked.

Citroen SM had pneumatic height adjustment way beck in the 1970s.

Had a 1 spoke steering wheel.

Kuna jamaa I met kwa garage alichukuwa body ya W210 hapo kwa Muchina akaeka parts from donor cars around Kariobangi and bypass.

Used less than 400k to build it and mind you he had bought the smooth 2.8 Litre M112 engine from an accident car.

Hio Gari inakuwanga Safi sana. Mpaka AC inafanya.

The only thing alizunguka kiasi before apate was the bitumen underseal for coating the body.

You need to strip everything from the car and do preventive anti rust treatment.

Those old cars were good. Had fewer plastics and also the plastics were of superior quality. Saa hii plastics zikichimwa na jua mwaka moja zina anza ku crack na fading.

Back then they used real Glass on the headlights unlike today where it is all polycarbonates. Pia gari hazikuwa na sensors mingi, they were mostly mechanical. Sensors zimekuja kuharibu magari, eti mpaka wipers ziko na code kwa ECU
