Kenya Railways is well managed. Their stations I.e. Syokimau, Imara, Makadara and CBD are neat and their platforms of good standards. Their trains are usually on time. What the need to do is to increase frequency because from 9:30am the next train is at 5:30pm. This may however change next year juu mwisho wa SGR for Nairobi passangers ni Syokimau so kuna plans of increasing the frequency.
On the other hand, Rift Valley Railways who own Ruiru Eagle and Kikuyu bufallo is pathetic. However, there is because Ruiru station is earmarked for upgrading. Bids to make the station closed in November 2015. Pia there is some works about to start in Thika station.
My first day kupanda train, I didn’t know that you are supposed to retain the ticket till you exit the station. I had to look all over the corridor, luckily, I found an old discarded ticket. Hiyo siku niliponea sana.
Ubaya ya most Nairobi pple is they look down upon nairobians who use trains to transit to work. Pple wud rather use private cars or matatus. If only the next Nairobi governor could improve train services like building more rail tracks around the city and increase trains hio shida ya traffic itaisha. Most 1st world countries depend alot on trains.
Do u know how long it takes me to travel to work thanks to trains. Let’s say I stay in ongata rongai ya Berlin…and work place ni CBD…it takes me less than 25mins.
