Ezekiel Mutua has brought back memories of effective media control by State Agencies… As CEO of the Kenya Film and Classification Board, he raised the Alarm about the teaching of Makenzie in Shakahola.
Unfortunately, in the brief period Makenzie had captured a huge audience in Nyanza and Western… I wonder what would have happened had he not be stopped. The mass deaths would have been higher…
The use of TV and Radio should be highly regulated. Unfortunately the Communication Authority of Kenya (the body that is supposed to regulate content) just goes mute and actually does nothing to stop these false teaching.
There should be a system created by Christian leaders to weed out the obviously fake teachings. The same should apply to all other religions.
Ezekiel Mutua showed that that all that matters is the passion of individual State Officers in discharging duties…
It is my prayer that either Ezekiel Mutua goes back to KFCB or is elevated to the Communication Authority of Kenya…

Like many other Kenyans, I’m very concerned about the TV station that belongs to the guy who preaches about Nyota. Every single day there are three buses full of people traveling from Western and Nyanza to go to Kilifi to look for Nyota. When you walk through small eateries in Bungoma, Kakamega and Kitale you will get everyone tuned to the Nyota guy… And very little preaching about Christ goes on there, it is more like sessions with a Mganga who reads your future…
I’m very uncomfortable with the guy, who is close to Makenzie…
Could Ezekiel Mutua help set up something to vet the teaching about Nyota? Or do we wait until we start crying about lost relatives in Kilifi?
