Watu wa mshahara wanaonyeshwa dust na Zakayo

It’s been a tough year for many Kenyan workers as take-home pay drops due to heavy deductions, breaking the one-third salary rule.

Example deductions after PAYE, Housing Levy, SHIF, and NSSF include:

— Sh50,000 salary → Sh39,273 net pay
— Sh100,000 salary → Sh72,335 net pay
— Sh200,000 salary → Sh138,310 net pay
— Sh350,000 salary → Sh237,273 net pay
— Sh500,000 salary → Sh336,235 net pay
— Sh800,000 salary → Sh526,714 net pay
— Sh1 million salary → Sh648,178 net pay

There’s the Vancouver you hear about and then there’s the Vancouver I reside in. You have no idea what a city Vancouver is. Up there with Hong Kong and Singapore. Better than 99% of American cities.

Wacha panjeets wajaze Canada ikuwe shithole kabisa. I like the way immigrants have made the UK a shithole. Na bado. White people should brace for bad times. Wacha vile wanaongelea sijui nationalism.

Those people are stupid. They say they have Job security and they can tolerate any fool that seats in power and they won’t mind. Majority of salaried employees don’t know the repercussions of unstable dollar. Bora salary imeingia kwa account they are good

The problem here is they have traceable. Many juakali and entrepreneurs earn similar or more but government can’t effect these taxations on them coz you can’t trace their income accurately.

Everybody knows it.

3 years after I quit my 50k office job to start a biz, whenever I’d meet my former colleagues they’d tell me how much I blundered and how far I’d be if I hadn’t quit. Juu nilikuwa nimeparara kama dancers wa Willy Paul.

I persevered and resisted the urge to apply for an office job.

Fast forward 5 years. I make a net profit of about 1m from the biz every month, and still rising. I pay myself 400+ in a good month and 200+ in a bad month. Now, whenever I meet my former colleagues, they bitch about their pay slips. Unfortunately, I just can’t relate.

PS: I always “encourage” my clients to pay in cash so that “I can buy things here and there”. IYKYK
