The price increase will not affect retailers that much. The large ones will not see much change in consumption.
The margins of retail remain the same.Consumption is what will vary.
Kumbe unakuwanga na fetoro stationi?..Hio biz iko aje ki-profits?

Aiise! Hujambia Elder poa… I know he could have rephrased his point. By saying that the cost will go straight to the final consumers because it’s tax which has increased.
Let me rephrase.
The fuel increase does not affect the margins retailers earn. The retail margin is sh 3.89 per litre. The tax does not affect this.
For large retailers, consumption of petrol will not change much because those who fuel at the likes of Kenol Kobil,Shell,Total etc will continue driving.Notice the top 5 have stations in the best locations in Nairobi and Mombasa.
However, the smaller retailers found upcountry and in the Eastern part of the city will see a drastic decline in demand.Mwanzo watu wa kerosene.Petrol will also take a hit for them as well as many will opt for public transportation more frequently.
After September, using Kerosene will be more expensive than using LPG.
(Oh,and there is a scheme to eliminate DPK altogether).
I think dealers should focus on Diesel(as demand will not change) and exports to Uganda and Rwanda
