Reggae has not stopped, ODM party leader Raila Odinga has said adding that the tunes are still on.

Before the outbreak of coronavirus into the country,Raila used ‘nobody can stop reggae’ phrase, which is associated with the late South African musician Lucky Dube, to promote the BBI agenda.

Reggae is a music genre with deep links to Rastafari, an Afrocentric religion that was developed in the 1930s in Jamaica.

When COVID-19 was confirmed on March 13, Building Bridges Initiative was suspended to allow Kenyans adhere to social distancing rules.

“Tulikuwa tunacheza reggae… haijasimama… walikuwa wanacheza reggae tunes… ni mazoezi tu ndio bado inaendelea, haijasimama,” he said.

(We were playing reggae…it has not stopped… We were just playing the tunes…It was just an exercise… it will continue)

Speaking to Citizen TV on Friday, Raila said when coronavirus ends, the music will begin.

“…COVID-19 ikiisha, wimbo utaendelea…hii janga imetukatia pumzi kidogo… tunafanya mipango… ikiisha tutarudi… wale ambao wanahusika na haya maneno wanaendelea na wako karibu kumaliza,” he said.

(When coronavirus comes to an end, reggae will continue. This disease has cut our lives short but we are planning. Those who were dealing with BBI are still working and are about to finish)

Raila further noted that there was no budget for Building Bridges Initiative.

“…we were getting money from friends who were helping. Tumefanya mkutano karibu nane… kila mkutano ilikuwa inakula pesa kidogo sana…” he said.

The AU envoy said the amount of money that they were using was not reaching Sh100m.

“…ilikuwa pesa kidogo na mingi ilikuwa inatoka kwa watu binafsi so serikali,” he added.

Typical African kind of leaders. As soon as this pandemic is over most of the western countries, Asian and the rest, their major focus will be on reviving economy know reeling from depression, working on health care system so as to properly cope with the future outbreak in case it does happen, ensuring that they have manufacturing capability of the key industries related to medical and others so that they do not have to depend on other countries for them in times of crisis as such. But this kind of African dunderhead leaders can only think of BBI and politics

And we wonder why we are discriminated against and thrown out in China… Africans instead of advocating and voting for good leadership we are voting bad leaders that mess with our economy and politics. Now unemployment has skyrocketed, we don’t have any vital manufacturing sector, as a result we run to well managed foreign nations such as China, USA, UK, and others and complain when treated well. Until we sort out our issues here in Africa we will always be treated so. I wish all Africans could be chased out from wherever they are and deported, maybe then we could get angrier when we realizen we are in a mess and force changes which will give us better governed nations to dream of so that we will not even dream of going to these foreign nations unless for holidays and tourism, and honey moon whatever

:D:D they only source of income ni siasa bila siasa watalala njaa

Hii inauma…

Is he aware the economy is collapsed!!
Even a class 1 pupil knows his/her priorities more than these senile leaders of ours!

Yesterday he donated to starving Kibera families soda and bread.
Tell me how in touch with reality such a person is.
People are facing starvation and the best you can do is give them soda extorted from businessmen?

Awache upuss! There’s absolutely no money a referendum. When will these leaders realize that hakuna pesa za ku waste?? Kenya has never been this broke since independence.

What do you suggest he donates?

Maize,
Beans or other legumes,
Maize flour,
Cooking oil etc.
Mkate na soda is playing games with their circumstances.

When we support politicians doesn’t mean we throw away our brains, what he did is bullshit en you know it…unga at least utakula siku mbili…like I always say most of our politicians have hollow skulls.

Generally, in a thead like this one where long suffering Kenyans are adequately and articulately expressing their frustratration with the extremely low calibre of .ke politicians, I take it as my national patriotic duty to remind fellow Wanjikus that:

its NOT the politicians that need to CHANGE, its the fvucking long suffering voter.

A changed voter situation would be evident if e.g on this forum and other Popular SM platforms, ile story inatembea ni ma civic and voter education and mobilization i.e a population organizing to defeat its demons etc

Sio story za madhambi za hao ma politicians.

Respectfully;
