What is bizarre about people practicing their traditional burial rites. In luhya land for example they invite cows to tutha the grave. In other places liku Ghana they have men in suits dancing to tecno music. They will soon start labelling them mungiki and use that as an excuse for murdering young men enjoying their culture

This is Mungiki tuu. You wait for 2022 watatoa all horns.

Just people connecting with their traditions. Not a big deal

Why now?

Uchawi is real. Hadi witches who practice white magic are coming

I’m all for Africans trying to salvage our lost and distorted traditional cultural values before it’s too late.
Although I was left a bit puzzled by the family reading their eulogies in English …
How do I sign up to this organisation? I’m converted and I want one of those tukofias with a Smily face emoji on them.

Ushirikina mtupu. You will get what you are looking for in the devil’s turf

Funerals make me sad and reflect on life…what is…n not…more not than is…that was fresh perspective…thayu ng’ang’a

What’s the name of this cult?

Clearly sijuwi

Unataka kuingia cult ngapi wewe? Hujatosheka na Red peels and mgtow? Jipe shughuli mseya, yatakushinda. Listen to this song maybe itakusaidia coz umechanganikiwa. This is Mungiki rebranding b4 elections to cause havok. Chunga sana kurukia mambo, things aren’t what they seem on the surface.

What cult? Even the Ministry of Jesus started as a cult to the mainstream religions of the day and look how it changed the world. It would do us good not to toss epithets around if we don’t understand what we are describing. It exposes our prejudice.

This is anti Christ. Thikireria haha.

Just becausethey sing and dance at a funeral?

Hehehe Kapote you really fear our traditional rites.

This movement of going to Kikuyu traditions was started when churches started sponsoring circumsion ceremonies for class 8 boys. I could be wrong but I believe that’s when wazees recognized how much we have fallen as a people.

Hell, during that time women were even taking their sons to those initiation camps sponsored by the church.

A total abomination in kikuyu culture. Circumcision rites ni za wazee si za watu wa kanisa.

This partly explains the emergence of the resurgence of Kikuyu traditions as a pushback against the church…

As I said, I could be wrong but that’s the best explanation I can offer based on what I observed in the last 10 years. Someone here might be better informed about this issue.

Huyu pastor na yeye ako na upuss. Si anasemanga alitoa dowry?

These pastors pretend to be anti Kikuyu traditions but none of them is brave enough to say no to dowry practices or Kikuyu initiation rites for young boys.

Si akose kufanya hizo dowry rites za wakikuyu aona kama atawai ongea mbele ya wazee?

Sana. Sijui ni ya kuogopa hapo yet she is from mountain. I don’t see her complaining when the Njuri ncheke meets huko kwa shrine
