The accounting officer should be held liable, yes, but remember they are just another cog in the machine, but the CS is the boss. There is a reason why CEOs get paid so much and that is because the buck stops with them they can not pass it to anyone else. The CS is supposed to be on the know about the operations in her office and is being persecuted for her incompetency. She is being asked to step aside so that investigations can be done to determine how the money disappeared. There have been other CSs that have stepped aside for investigations what is her merit for not doing so?
At which point are we supposed to start the fight against corruption when every suspect cries of political assassination?
I will tell the fucking truth the way knuckleheads will not dare think it. Evil triumphs not because of the power of the villains but because ‘good people’ do nothing to stop them. Martin Winterkorn resigned as chief executive of Volkswagen taking responsibility for an emissions cheating scandal that has gravely damaged the car maker’s reputation.
“As C.E.O., I accept responsibility for the irregularities that have been found in diesel engines,” Mr. Winterkorn, 68, said in a statement.
