Despite numerous promotional campaigns and endless adverts on Royal media TVs and Radios this platform has quite never picked.
It defeats the purpose to have to pay for content and pay your ISP for data. This app was modelled after Netflix and Hulu but they forgot that data rates in Kenya are too high.
The market place is the acid test. Bad products or those not well positioned are mercilessly dealt with.
Focus groups and economic survey are important.

Personally I don’t know anyone who has installed the app or subscribed to Viusasa
It can’t take off for the same reason stadiums don’t fill up. People don’t have enough disposable income to pay for garbage content. The same reason I wouldn’t be caught dead inside a stadium supporting our perennial losing team Harambee Starz.
They will have to invest heavily to see it take off. Can Citizen TV make documentaries? No because they are too cheap.
Nimrod Taabu must be missing NTV where they allowed him to bring great reports such as the one below. For Royal Media they are not going to be interested if it is not around Nairobi or Mombasa because they don’t want to spend any money
Standard Media house on the other hand was launching tv and radio stations right left and center.
