Parents and guardians are urged to prioritise the safety and well-being of their children during the festive season.
They have the duty of shielding children from risky behaviours , negative influences and to monitor their children’s movements , company and activities.
The vulnerability of children during long holidays increases due to increased free time and temptations , hence the need to keep them engaged in constructive activities such as youth programs , family chores , and hobbies.
It is the duty of parents to guide their children wisely and ensure their potential is not ruined by bad decisions or negative peer influence.
Parents should also be aware of relatives who sexually exploit their children as some of them lack morality.
It is crucial to create an environment that nurtures discipline , responsibility, and good moral values, as poor decisions made during early childhood or teenage levels may have long-term consequences that cannot be reversed.
