Vehicle trade-in.

Have you ever traded a vehicle for another?
What’s the process?
And what vehicle did you trade for?
Any and all info is welcome.

Trade in is a scam, sell your vehicle, add whatever you need to and buy the other vehicle

Don’t try it! Sell the vehicle as a separate transaction from buying another one. Trade-in is a rip off.

Just use your old vehicle till you get a buyer. Unless you want car dealers to make double profit.

Never try that shit. Car dealers will eat you alive my friend. Just sell your car separately. Add the amount of money you need to get a new car. Trade-in is a ripoff.

Just sell it and buy another one unless unataka kupoteza pesa

Inbox me that car you are selling and price. don’t do trade in.
eg. A well maintained second hand 1300 vitz when selling to yards will go for 450k to 500k. For trade in with lets say ractis(valued at 900k) , they will tell you to add 600k on top of the vitz, valuing(vitz) it at 300k.

Sounds like sound advice, but elaborate tafadhali.

What If I have something like a 2012 Premio and I want to step down to something like an Auris or move to a Hybrid Honda Insight for example?

When trading in, they will quote a ridiculously low figure for your old car as its value so that they can make a handsome profit when they sell it at its real value. You can get the real value of the car buy selling it without tying it to getting the new car. For trade in, they know your options are limited. The most annoying part is they will start lecturing you how your car is worthless, how you have misused it, blah blah blah…

depends on cars conditions.send images, mileage na year of manufacture.
Edit( Its also important to value it-your offer. You can research with jiji and have an estimate)

It’s more curiosity than for me wanting to actually trade in my car for another.

One time when selling my old car I realized adverts on Jiji and Cheki have slightly higher prices because they target hire purchase not cash price. Maybe also dealer profit margin and operating cost is high. True cash price is around 100 to 150k less.

Dealers make a killing on those trade in deals. Watatolea hiyo gari makosa hadi ulie. As many issues they find the lesser they will value it. Once you trade it off they fix just afew of the issues and over price the car. You will be better off selling it independently. Their profit margin is higher on traded cars than the other cars
