When a phone is connected then you select the MTP option, comp inatoa the notification sound ya ku denote a usb device connected but the device haikuwi featured ukienda kwa my computer, the same case niki connect windows phone, inatoa io sound ya ku show a device is connected via usb lakini haionyeshi io device kwa my computer,
So naeza solve aje hii problem

Had the same problem with Windows 8.1.
Connect you device. Go to Device Manager. Your device should be under Portable Devices, likely with an exclamation on it; missing or corrupt driver etc.
Double click on your device, go to driver tab and click on Update Driver button.
Choose Browse my computer for driver software.
Next choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
Windows will provide a list of drivers that are compatible with your device/phone. Select the most appropriate from the list and follow the wizard to install.
If all goes correctly Windows will now auto-dectect your phone correctly every time.
EDIT: You can get to device manager by right clicking on the Windows button on the task bar.
