The US Space Force has defended its newly unveiled camouflage uniforms after they were roundly mocked on social media.
The force, officially launched by US President Donald Trump last month, posted a picture of the uniform to its Twitter account.
The uniform in the picture has a woodland camouflage design with badges embroidered on the arm and chest.
Reacting to the uniform, many critics had the same question: “Camo in space?”

One Twitter user asked : “Have they never seen space before?”
Another illustrated the difference between space and camouflage, which is designed to help military personnel blend in with their surroundings.

The force explained its rationale in a tweeted response. It said it was “utilising current Army/Air Force uniforms” and “saving costs of designing/producing a new one” in doing so.
“Members will look like their joint counterparts they’ll be working with, on the ground,” the force added in the tweet.
There is nothing wrong with the uniform. These guys wont be fighting in space themselves but they will set up weapons on earth that are designed to be deployed and fight in space.
Mainly monitoring of GPS and communication systems which is the weakness in our electronics oriented world… In the long run having such an entity is almost useless since the US Airforce has been doing that task for several decades and you also have NASA…
Having weapons in Space is a violation of UN treaties the United States signed…
Ate you saying star wars suck?..well not including the last 3 or four eyesores
but really man ,are murican taxpayers that naive to foot the bill on such a redudant army? cant wait for insurgents from the planet horsebutt or Uranus :D:D:D
And if Aliens were to come from another star system, their tech would be so far ahead of our own that fighting them would be the equivalent of the Sentinelese shooting spears at helicopters
But you know what, wacha wanjenge. Trump prolly watched Independence Day and decided a space force was needed
Funny you should mention an invasion. One scientist equated an invasion to the primitivity of some lower animals looking at tech but they are oblivious of its existance like an ant looking at a bike, does it know what its looking at? hence it doesnt bother them so the same thing might be happening at the moment,a superior advanced race might already be here with tech so advance for primitive brain to comprehend.
