The so called ‘pigmy’ economies have much more to lose.
US printing money pushes the cost of inflation to smaller economies relying on US dollar as reserve currency. The US can simply print more, or raise interest rates to manipulate the situation at home to their benefit, leaving the others who cannot do that suffering the consequences.
Therefore, the ‘pigmy’ economies who are more exposed have greater need to escape. They do not vote in US elections to determine monetary policy. Why should they suffer the consequences for dubious choices made in America? It does not make any sense.
