A third year student was on Friday, November 12 charged with stealing a phone worth Ksh143,000, passport valued at Ksh262,440 and cash from a man he had met three days earlier.

Veronica Njeri, 23, who is a student at a local private University was charged of stealing a wallet which had over Ksh800,000 in US dollars and Ksh30,000.

The money and items were stolen from Kabba Ibrahim a diplomat who hails from Sierra Leone on November 8.

According to the prosecution, she committed the crime together with another lady who went into hiding at the Black Rose apartments, Kilimani in Nairobi County.

“She had only met the Sierra Leone national three days earlier and informed him that she was drunk at a nearby entertainment joint and was in dire need of help,” the prosecution team told the court.

It is then that Ibrahim decided to rush to the club and met Njeri in the company of another lady whose name he cannot recall.

After realizing that the two women were drank, Ibrahim remained with no option but to take them with him.

The man told the police once in the house, Njeri requested that she is allowed to go to the washroom but requested Ibrahim to accompany her as she wanted to vomit.

They both left to the washroom leaving behind the woman who to Ibrahim was a total stranger.

However, when they returned back to the seating room, the stranger had already fled with Ibrahim’s phone and only left behind a Sim card.
It is then that the foreigner decided to go and report the matter at Milimani Police Station leaving behind Njeri.

The following morning, Njeri sobered up and when the man asked her who had accompanied her to his house, she totally denied knowing her.

Police officers after questioning Njeri opted to arrest and charge her with the theft.

Njeri has denied the charges before senior principal margitrate Esther Boke of Kibera law courts.

Boke released her on a Ksh300,000 bond with surety of similar amount or an alternative of Ksh100,000.

The case will be mentioned on November 12.

A stiff jail sentence will suffice.

kwani alifikiria atapeny aje?
pombe hapana supu banae

Hii ni gani sasa?

Which fuckin wallet carries this amount of money

dollars

How expensive are passports nowadays?

When at dicey locations or dangerous company , I carry less than 1K in cash but always my trusty , small 2K “Mulika Mwizi” …

Unknown to any casual observer , it has a “reserve” of between 50K - 80K …
Adequate for most eventualities …

If in the company of someone you don’t want to take home , you just dash her 2K for “Fare” and jump into your own Taxi …
( … NEVER take your ride to a Bar … )

If stolen or lost , the only gain is a 2K phone with Call and SMS capabilities … :D:D

I have actually seen a friend in a Bar with 4 x 100K bundles in his jacket pockets …

Claimed he did not have the time to go home and secure the amount …

Waaahh …:D:D:D
