The United States has re-affirmed its commitment to assist Kenya it’s in economic development initiatives while supporting the fight against terrorism. This message was delivered by President Donald Trump’s top diplomat Mike Pompeo when he placed a call to President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday evening. Among other things he pledged more US support in the war against the Al-Shabaab both within Kenya’s borders and in Somalia. The Trump administration has been trying to improve its damaged relationship with Africa in the wake of fierce competition from China. Kenya is a strategic partner for the US in the fight against terrorism.

The call was a congratulatory gesture for standing with uncle Sam on the occasion of opening their Embassy in Jerusalem.
At what cost and risk if the Kenyan embassy itself is not being moved? Kenya has always claimed to be neutral, so what did it gain us other than a phone call and exposing Kenyans to risks and travel warnings being issued? This was more in line with Israeli than US interests.

The base line was minerals and other resources, it goes without saying that the whole of Africa is already prospected, and what we keep on been told, are new discoveries were discovered along time by the colonialist, only that this information is hidden away from the public.
Case in point, country X in the south or Sahara discovers huge deposit of mineral A. But when mining started, we kept on encountering concrete slabs in depth of 7 feet or so.

I think I agree with you. We have oil but I don’t think it’s that much to warrant the attention of the big boys. On the other hand, the way things are going, oil might not be that precious in the near future especially after other sources of energy come in.
