President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced changes in government in a press release issued by Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua.
On Wednesday, February 17, Kenyatta reshuffled the Principal Secretaries and CASs. Eight PSs, six CASs have been reshuffled and eight new appointed in the latest change.
The State Department for Mining was also merged with the State Department for Petroleum to form a single State Department within the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining.
Dr Belio Kipsang was transferred from the Education Ministry to be the PS for State Department for Regional and Northern Corridor Development.
Zack Kinuthia was also appointed CAS Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage. Kinuthia was previously the CAS for Education.
Other changes among PSs were as follows; Dr Juma Jwan was transferred from the State Department for Vocational and Technical Training to the State Department for Early Learning & Basic Education.

Margaret Mwakima took over as PS State Department for Vocational and Technical Training. Andrew Kamau was transferred to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining.
Julius Korir took over as PS State Department for Devolution, Peter Kaberia was posted to the State Department for Industrialisation from the Sports docket.
Charles Talengo Sunkuli was appointed PS State Department for Youth Affairs. Sunkuli is the immediate former PS State Department for Devolution.
The CASs were re-assigned as follows; Winnie Gichu from CAS State Law Office and Department of Justice to CAS Ministry of Interior. Gideon Mungaro from the Lands Ministry to the Devolution docket.
Lina Jebi Kilimo was posted to the Ministry of Public Service and Gender. She previously served as (CAS) of Livestock and Fisheries. Hassan Noor Hassan took over Education CAS, a post previously held by Zack Kinuthia who was appointed CAS Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage.
