Yesterday, on JKL (JeffKoinangeLive) I watched the crook Jirongo try to extricate himself from his own history.
But there is one anecdote he gave which I found absolutely fascinating - and which points to why, as he said it, “2017 is a done deal for Uhuru”.
According to Jirongo, during the 2013 campaigns, Uhuru and his entourage spent a night at Jirongo’s Kitale home. It was after a hard day’s campaigning, but they still talked and made merry into the night.
The next morning Jirongo was shocked to be woken by his workers at 6am - his distinguished guest, Uhuru Muigai wa Kenyatta, was helping them milk the cows and they were not sure they should allow him to!
Jirongo says he was so taken aback that he didn’t know what to do. Right in front of him was the son of the first president - and the incoming president - on a low stool milking a cow with his bare hands!!!
It reminded me that Jomo’s former bodyguard last year said that old Jomo used to make all his children do hours in the shamba, digging.

jirongo has taken the brief from wanjigi in attacking DP Ruto from jacob juma. jirongo suits that role as he is desperate for finance with the numerous court cases, evictions and debt collectors. He also has a long standing grudge with him. Uhuru looks like he’d still lead a comfortable life if he was born a peasant. Gideon Moi on the other hand only realized the importance of speaking Swahili when he became MP in 2002 (remember the boy was elected unopposed).
No, milking a cow is not leadership. But it gives an insight into the nature and character of a person. The problem with us Africans is that we often stupid and petty and don’t want to give credit where its due.
