In the champions league group stage after all the four teams kwa group zimeplay twice both at home & away (6 games) the teams that qualifies as 1st & 2nd then proceed to the next round of champions league and the team that finishes 3rd place in that group is relegated to a lower league which is Europa league.
In Europa league the relegated champions league team are then expected to play the team that finished 2nd in those groups that are in Europa. The winner of that round then qualifies to play on round of 16 of Europa league.
