UDA Is Ruto's Vehicle To Dynasty Construction....Brother Has Taken The Helm.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has revealed its plan to change strategy in member recruitment to the party.
Speaking in Embu on Saturday, August 14, UDA Executive Director Nasho Odanga, revealed that the UDA party had decided to change tactics following failure by Ruto-allied MPs to actively recruited members to the party. The party will now directly engage voters through its officials - according to its Executive Director. He made the declaration while some MCAs and opinion leaders were at the home of former Kamukunji MP Norman Nyagah.

Odanga was accompanied by the DP’s younger brother, David Ruto, who appears to be taking a more active political role as the race to 2022 warms up.

The meeting centered around the party strategizing on ways to capture more numbers in registration to the Ruto-led UDA party, by going through direct structures to recruit members. The party boss accused MPs of giving priority to their campaigns for Kenyans’ votes in next year’s elections, at the expense of recruiting members.

The party now wants to ditch MPs as point persons in the recruitment of its members and use alternative avenues.

“These MPs we started selling them because we were transiting from Jubilee to UDA.
When you campaign for UDA, the first thing to do is to focus on popularising the party and recruitment, rather than asking them to vote for you in the 2022 elections,” lamented Odanga.

Ruto’s younger brother, David, was a key figure in the consultation meeting although he does not occupy any office in the party.

Earlier this year, the DP’s younger brother launched the Hustler Nation Movement in Kisumu County, where he conducted a fundraiser for Nyamasaria bodaboda riders in the city, in a city considered as Raila’s backyard. Consequently, the DP lauded his brother’s efforts, saying that he shares in the 2030 vision of elevating Kenya to a middle-income country by ensuring the support of small business enterprises.

As the countdown to the 2022 general elections clocks down, UDA, led by DP Ruto has resolved to chat its course single-handedly, even as other parties seek to form coalitions, most notably, One Kenya Alliance (OKA). Ruto will have to overcome ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is seen by many as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s choice for presidential candidacy endorsement as his replacement.

UDA party plans to have grassroots elections in early October.

It is reported Ruto wants to hire President Museveni’s chief political advisers as he prepares his State House bid in the 2022 General Election, his allies told the Nation yesterday.
The DP was to hold talks with President Museveni as his associates held separate discussions with officials of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), they disclosed.
The second-in-command was on Monday, however, barred from flying to Uganda for the private meeting with East Africa’s longest-serving leader over a “protocol hitch” between his staff and the Office of the President.

His team of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Kiharu’s Ndindi Nyoro, Kinango’s Benjamin Tayari, and businessmen David Lagat, Harun Aydin, David Muge, Simon Mogun and Nelson Kisalit was allowed to proceed.
Speaking to the Nation yesterday, Mr Sudi said their aim was “to borrow political lessons from the NRM”, which has ruled Uganda for more than 35 years.
With the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) set to be the DP’s political vehicle in his presidential quest, Mr Sudi said they wanted to learn party management practices from President Museveni’s handlers.
“We’re interested in how Museveni runs NRM, because we want to follow his example when it comes to political parties,” Mr Sudi said.

The DP, his allies said, is determined to hire President Museveni’s chief strategists because next year’s election “is a do-or-die game” for him.
They added that the Ugandan leader’s political experience would be crucial in his campaign.
“President Museveni is surrounded by wise people who will be vital in this journey. He also has a lot of ‘intel’, which is important in any political game,” said a Tangatanga MP.
Following his falling out with President Kenyatta, the DP is said to be “looking for a mentor” to guide him. He has had a challenging time in government since the March 9, 2018 Handshake between President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Mr Sudi noted that although the DP did not travel, they had “compared notes” with President Museveni’s handlers on political activities.
“Ndindi and I were to meet with Museveni’s advisors. The boss had a meeting planned with the President. There’s nothing we are hiding. We don’t want a party that will die after elections like what happened to Jubilee. We have been going to different countries for this,” he said.

The Kapseret MP accused the government of playing games with their private mission.

UDA members said since the 2022 race would need financial resources, the DP was bringing together friends who would walk the journey with him.
The party has been opening diaspora offices, the most recent one in Atlanta, which saw UDA secretary-general Veronica Maina, Soy MP Caleb Kositany and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri travel there, just a month after Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata opened a branch in Seattle.
“Dr Ruto and President Museveni did not begin their friendship the other day, it’s been growing over the years; friends cannot fail you. Museveni will do what any other friend would do to help Dr Ruto. His support is important and strategic because he is our neighbor,” a UDA member told the Nation.
According to a flight manifest from Phoenix Aviation, the DP was to use a Cessna 560XL with registration 5Y WHB.
It was ready for the flight but the crew was told at the last minute that their VVIP guest would not be flying.

The DP’s office protested what it termed a change of rules on his foreign travels without notice.
“We’re surprised the Deputy President was denied clearance to go on a planned private visit to Uganda. It’s our officers who always handle his travel and this time, they were told that he must get clearance from Immigration to fly out. In all his travels, all these years, this has not happened,” said his communication secretary, Mr David Mugonyi.

In his tour of Kampala last month, the DP was full of praise for President Museveni.
He called on the Ugandan president to actualize his favorite topic of the East African Federation before the end of his term.

Exercise in futility. Udaku is destined to failure.

Kiambu Woman Representative, Gathoni Wamuchomba, is courting controversy over her remarks that she would not hesitate to dump Deputy President William Ruto’s Tanga Tanga movement if President Uhuru Kenyatta asked her to. o_O:rolleyes:

Speaking to Inooro TV on Tuesday, August 17, Wamuchomba said that despite her recent defection to Ruto’s camp, she still has her options open and that she is always ready to re-align with Uhuru’s side. She affirmed that the Mt Kenya region has a soft spot for the President and the leaders from the region still support him.

Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni wa Muchomba

“The problem with our President in the Kiambu region is that we love him. If he calls to tell me that he wants us to have a conversation, even if I were sitting with the DP, I would go running very fast because we love him as our President,” she stated.
Wamuchomba also reiterated that her frustrations with the ruling government emanated from the recently held Kiambaa Constituency and Muguga Ward by-elections.

According to the Woman Representative, she was sidelined from playing a role during the campaigns in the Kiambu region – her own backyard.

She posed a question as to why the party saw it fit to allow outsiders such as Kieni MP Kanini to lead the campaigns.
Alluding to her defection from Jubilee to UDA, she explained that her decision was based on the desires of the Kiambu people.
“The only discrepancy that the people of Kiambu had with me is that I was fronting the Jubilee candidate for the Juja by-elections. They told me not to bring forth any agenda concerning the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), the Jubilee party or Uhuru,” she stated.

As the 2022 General Election draws closer, the political temperatures are fast-rising with politicians aligning themselves with the most probable winners.
