I know of a village guy who was in same bizness in late 1990s to early 2000s, his biz picked at around early 1990s and he bought two DT dobie Toyota pickups. There were rumours that the guy is a member of a secret org and that he sold out his bro and sis who died in early 1990s to gain that wealth. Fast forward in 2000s the guy changed biz into matatu and then to farming but none was successful. He all of a sudden started acting weird kuropokwa maneno saying their will be no more bloodshed in a family gathering, Saa hio he was sweating like someone in fever. From there onwards he became somehow mad, he is now a street pastor in meru town.
Blasty:
How many o you have come across Uchawi kwA biashara.Real life experience not hearsay?
…
There’s a guy who was doing very very well.Hapa Kongowea alikuwa anakujia mtush Gikosh. That guy used to live LARGE.Softlife I tell you. Customers wa mtush alikuwa nao.He used to pick his bales hapo Gikosh on credit.Fly to NBO on a Monday evening and be back on Tuesday morning na by the following Monday amemalizia stock.
His circle 'Boys club’s was enviable.
He went down.Slowly but surely. Couldn’t pay off his debts na customers wakaanza kudidimia.Boys wakamtoka one by one(he had become a liability now plus akaaza ulevi mbaya to drown his sorrows). Bibi akamtoka. Never recovered.
Sold every household good at a Shylocks price and drank the money.
Went back to Ushago but can’t stand the ridicule n matusi na matharau ya watu.
One day as we sat down he gave me his story (I had come to know him after amesota).
He told me that some Kaos did him.
That there’s a day he went to his stall and found a snake at his door.
He says that was the beginning o his downfall.
…
He narrated to me how watu esp at the Coast deploy mazingaombwe ya ‘kukunyang’anya nyota yako’.
But when he suggested that we could go to a Mzee that helps people ‘kulinda nyota’ I cut ties with him.
When I asked him why he didn’t do that when his busi was was good, akasema eti he didn’t know I that by then.
Would you? Do you? (Engage a mganga to secure ur business?)
I am 100% sure hakuna uchawi hapo. The guy failed to make hay while the sun was shining. As someone has already said, he failed to diversify his income streams. Ama alidhani atauza mitush forever? His biggest mistake. That’s why I advocate for FINANCIAL CLASSES right from class one to university. Instead of mundane, archaic and outdated subjects like RELIGIOUS EDUCATION. Religion has no place in the classroom. It only helps in spreading superstitions like the one’s you are doing.
Many moons ago kuna retiree alikuja retirement package yake in asset form…no cash.
Among the assets was a shiny very brand new posho mill.
The guy either ran out of cash or hadnt budgeted that a posho mill needed its own shelter.
Our village is notorious for vandalism &/or theft…retiree knew very well.
But he was flat out of cash…all he could afford was a cemented floor to bolt the machine to the ground then for the structure he settled for a mud walled building with old rusty worn out iron sheets.
But we all knew that wasnt enough to secure his investment…he had to take extra measures.
Next day retiree hired a boat and crew and sailed to a remote L.Victoria Island on the Tanzanian side and returned with a revered soothsayer/fortune teller/intercessor/medicine man…we honestly dont know the mans specialty…we just know niggas badass.
So retiree brought ‘Swaleh’ to his estate to help ‘secure’ his stuff.
Swaleh does his stuff overnight all you need is to cook him some chicken stew and rice, pay him kabla afanye job…kwa sababu akianza hufai kumwona/kumwangalia na ata leave your boma before umwone/umwangalie (dont ask me why or how)…anyway Swaleh alidunga janta…na by the way hiyo chicken stew unapika on Swaleh’s instructions i.e. toa kuku manyoya na upike kuku mzima mzima…usikate shingo or kukata anywhere…just twist neck toa feathers…bas pika.
Mki taka part 2 you guys have to request for it :D:D.
But ujue hapa nimefika swaleh amesha enda home…job done.
Ghasia takataka wewe maliza hekaya

We had business education in primary school a few years ago but it was removed
He should have trusted God and included him in his plans.
