Scene One: Tyrone in the backwards baseball cap is at the local convenience store with his friends Jamal and DeOntay. They’re not shopping of course. Black people in the ‘hood live on KFC, tabasco sauce and Top Ramen noodles. Tyrone isn’t purchasing fresh produce for a healthy supper, he’s hiding. He’s scared. It seems he pissed someone off. I don’t know what he did exactly, but it could have been something as minor as stepping on a fresh pair of Timberland boots or something as major as robbing and killing people in enemy territory. I doubt these guys are gang-bangers though as they would have been armed. Most likely Tyrone just mouthed off to the wrong guy, who came back with his friends and some guns. Of course, its entirely possible that Tyrone was a Good Boy Who Dindu Nuffin’ to Nobody. EIther way his assassins find him and all hell breaks loose.
Scene Two: In true bonobo fashion the gunmen shoot at everything but the target, spraying bullets aimlessly instead of singling out their intended mark. Watch how Tyrone’s ‘friends’ react in the eleventh hour. Depressing but predictable. It’s easy to act gangsta until its time to do some gangsta ass shit. Whoever coined the phrase “It be ya own niggas” probably had a similar experience to the deceased in this video. As a result of the piss-poor marksmanship Jamal manages to use Tyrone as a meat shield and he survives the assault totally unhurt. DeOntay isn’t so lucky, at some point his body goes completely limp indicating a fatal gunshot wound. Perhaps if he pulled his pants up his bright and colourful boxers wouldn’t have provided the perfect bullseye.
Scene Three: Jamal emerges from beneath Tyrone’s body. First he checks his haircut to make sure its still got the drip because he really doesn’t want to go and see the barber again for a touch-up, then he checks his phone to make sure its still working because there’s nothing worse than a broken smartphone, then he calls for help. Again, depressing but predictable. We are so insular nowadays. I’m surprised he didn’t take a selfie with the corpses. #thuglyfe. Take note of the writing on the door. “Go Lo”. Hilarious yet foreboding, like something out of Final Destination. The angel of death has a twisted sense of humour.
N/B: Keep an eye on the old man in the top left corner. His reflexes are perfect. He assesses and reacts to the situation in milliseconds. This is a true veteran of ‘Da Streetz’.
Moral of the story: Don’t be poor, black and from the ghetto. If the poh-leese don’t get you “ya peeple’s” will.
