South Africa is a constitutional democracy that is deeply rooted in the rule of law, justice and equality.
The South African government has not confiscated any land.
The recently adopted Expropriation Act is not a confiscation instrument , but a constitutionally mandated legal process that ensures public access to land in an equitable and just manner as guided by the constitution.
South Africa , like the United States of America and other countries, has always had expropriation laws that balance the need for public usage of land and the protection of rights of property owners.
We look forward to engaging with the Trump administration over our land reform policy and issues of bilateral interest. We are certain that out of those engagements, we will share a better and common understanding over these matters.
The US remains a key strategic political and trade partner for South Africa.
With the exception of PEPFAR Aid , which constitutes 17% of South Africa’s HIV Aids programme , there is no other funding that is received by South Africa from the United States.

MY HUMBLE ADVICE TO SOUTH AFRICA.
1/ Tell Trump and “Boer” Elon Musk to go and F–ck themselves… The USA needs South Africa ( …and the rest of Africa …) and it’s resources more than the Africa needs the USA.
There is Nothing that South Africa desperately needs from the USA that cannot be sourced from the rest of Africa , South America , Europe , Asia or Australia…
This includes Aid and Financial Assistance , Technology transfer , Export and Import Markets , Mutual National Defense and Security Partnerships and Investment opportunities.
2/ This should be a wake up call to the whole world (…and Africa in particular…) that our leadership need to wake up from decades of slumber , corruption and ineptness and forge a unity of purpose to confront this new assault of US Neo-Colonialism.
Close participation in Communications , Trade , Barter , appropriate Technology and common interests can more than make up for any perceived collaboration under conditional assistance and exploitation by Trump and his MAGA appointees.
80 years after most of Africa got it’s Independence … It is time for us to all get together and craft a winning strategy for this Continent free from colonial manipulation.

But dont ignore the massive trade in goods and services between South Africa and the US…Its massive…almost $40 billion annually with exports to US alone hitting just under $15 billion! Thats huge… and its all under AGOA, TIFA and TIDCA trade agreements ( for comparison, kenya’s exports to US is under $0.5 billion yet it makes our presidents kneel and kiss ass to get access to AGOA)
US FDI to SA is $10 billion annually… to Kenya is a mere $0.2 billion!
am stating this because i know he will eventually try to bully south africa using the trade relation between the two countries…but the bottom line is that the US is attempting to bully a country it has no real leverage against…South Africa can easily survive without the USA, something which MOST countries cant do.
