Acha kua slow, ukiwahi tajiwa linux kumbuka bootable usb stick. Chomelea moja with any distro of your choice, live boot, mount your hard disk access everything you want. I suggest mint coz its light and you will get the job done.

FYI, Unaweza boot live na Kaspersky antivirus CD to access file system of all connected storage. You can then copy/move to accessible partitions / drives.
