Transition: She touched our hearts...

Dagoretti woman in viral photo pulling Mkokoteni has passed away"

Everlyn Ndinyuki’s photo went viral on social media, touching the hearts of Kenyans across the country. She was seen pulling a heavy mkokoteni through the dusty streets, the load weighing heavily on her thin frame.

Her determination to earn an honest living inspired us all. But now, with a heavy heart, we share the news that this hardworking woman has passed away.

Her story is one of resilience in the face of adversity. She faced numerous challenges, including a lack of access to education and limited job opportunities.

Despite all of this, she persisted and worked hard to provide for herself and her family. Her photo sparked a nationwide conversation about the dignity of labor and the need for better opportunities for all.

We may not have known her personally, but her story touched us all. Her legacy will live on, inspiring us to work towards a better future for all.

My condolences to his family

…My heartfelt condolences to family and friends.

RIP

May she rest in peace.
@Weyn @chap @kanguthu @MajorProphet and etc you should emulate the good example set by the hardworking lady instead of earning income thru horizontal activities

Was the mkokoteni the cause of her death ? Sijaelewa hii story

Why do you make it appear as if it is men’s responsibility and destiny to pull heavy mikokoteni?

Men do this everyday and receive no recognition. Gender equality they said. Let’s not get touched by simple emotions.

No comment, you’re just idle

She was poised for a state commendation for putting in an honest day’s work. Africans are still evolving.

Rip

Women aren’t as physically strong as men are, nor are they as economically empowered.

She deserved the award.
