Hii thread @Ndindu amepiga @Gaines TKO clean. I don’t like the nigga but he is on point and has proven that indeed many a certain Prado model shares very many parts with Hiaces and Hiluxes. That is why even after an accident a written off Prados, Vigos or Hiaces are still hotcakes due to their high demands parts. Another family is the Corolla.

Many toyota models share similar engines and parts but are packaged in different bodies eg prado & hiace, rav 4 & Noah etc. Basically all 1500 cc cars share same engine and skeleton, same with 2000cc and 2700cc etc. That way toyota doesnt have to manufacture different engines and parts for different models. Inaitwa economies of scale.

@Gaines leo umepigwa tackle moja safi na @Ndindu. kizungu yako mingi haitakusaidia hapa.

Efficiency is affected by weight. That’s why a motorcycle with less horsepower than a car will out accelerate it at any time.

Prado shares a chassis with a 4Runner.

Fortuner is Toyota Surf 97%

Hajui What Power to WEIGHT ratio is.

Mjinga ukona gari kwanza

uliza mamako ni gari mimi humpleka nayo lodging kupanua cheeks, umbwa mtoto wa malaya

Na umeambiwa you’re not clever na huskii. Corollas and other tududus have been running on the D-4D engines for over 20 years now, just that they aren’t common in 254, ziko mingi sana though in countries with premium/special/ultimate diesels, kina Ampol na BP or V-Power Diesel ya Shell.

Unafikiria kuna variety moja ya D-4D?

Our argument was based on common parts between Prado, Hiace and later Hilux got into the mix because they are all very closely related

We are/were talking about Hiace/Prado D 4D which is very different from the smaller one of 1.X L used in saloon cars

Popular D-4D engines in cars

  • 1CD-FTV
    1CD-FTV
  • 1ND-TV.
  • AD-FTV. …
  • 1WW. …
  • GD-FTV. …
  • 1VD-FTV.

There we go again.

Close the argument ama tuanzane sasa na nikufunze about Corollas

Efficiency is measured as the work done by the engine measured in torque or horsepower, which is influenced by fuel amount (engine cc) and air intake (volumetric efficiency). The weight aspect is considered when designing the optimal weight for maximum power transmission in the transmission system. Efficiency is a COST aspect, where the ideal system gives maximum output with minimum/optimal inputs (fuel).

The power-to-weight ratio is an unreliable measurement. What weight will you be measuring? The weight of the engine or the whole locomotive against the power? And what aspect of power will you be weighting against weight, torque or horsepower?

Lakini overall efficiency will be greatly affected if the Engine Vs Load are not matched correctly

Engine and load torque matching curves

That is why there is a gearbox between the engine and the wheels.
